Getting started

Set up TradingView to Discord in a few steps.

  1. Create an account and verify your email. Sign in to access your dashboard and license.
  2. Create a Discord webhook. In Discord channel settings, create a webhook for the channel where you want alerts to appear.
  3. Save the Discord webhook URL. Paste it into Quick Setup in your private dashboard.
  4. Copy the TradingView webhook URL. Your dashboard displays the full endpoint, ending in /webhook/tradingview.
  5. Set up a TradingView alert. Enable Webhook URL and use a valid JSON message with your license key, ticker and signal.
  6. Check delivery results. View your usage logs in the dashboard after TradingView sends an alert.

The TradingView webhook receives automated POST requests without a browser login. Each payload must pass the existing license checks. Your Discord webhook URL and license are not published on these pages.

Alert examples

Example TradingView webhook payloads.

These examples show message structures supported by the connector. Replace YOUR_LICENSE_KEY with your own license from the dashboard. Never publish a real license in a public example.

Indicator BUY alert

{
  "license": "YOUR_LICENSE_KEY",
  "ticker": "{{ticker}}",
  "signal": "BUY",
  "price": "{{close}}",
  "time": "{{time}}"
}

Strategy order action

{
  "license": "YOUR_LICENSE_KEY",
  "ticker": "{{ticker}}",
  "signal": "{{strategy.order.action}}",
  "price": "{{strategy.order.price}}",
  "time": "{{time}}"
}

Event-based alert

{
  "license": "YOUR_LICENSE_KEY",
  "ticker": "{{ticker}}",
  "event": "breakout_alert",
  "entry": "{{close}}",
  "tp": 123.45,
  "stop": 120.00
}

Replace the example target and stop with values appropriate to your strategy.

The full webhook URL and your registered license are provided in your dashboard. A valid license remains necessary for delivery, even though webhook requests do not use browser sessions.

Help

Help connecting TradingView to Discord.

No message in Discord?

Check that the Discord webhook is saved in your dashboard, that the TradingView alert actually fired, and that your license is active or within its trial.

Invalid payload?

Send well-formed JSON with a ticker and a signal (or supported event/message), plus your license key.

Wrong Discord channel?

The saved Discord webhook determines the destination channel. Create and save the webhook for your intended channel.

Need delivery details?

Sign in and open Usage logs to inspect recent alert processing and delivery status.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Does TradingView have to log in to send a webhook?

No. TradingView sends an HTTP POST to the webhook endpoint. The server validates the license in the JSON payload; it does not require a browser session.

Do I need to create a Discord webhook?

Yes. Create one in the channel where you want alerts and save its URL in your authenticated dashboard.

Where do I find my TradingView webhook URL?

Sign in and open Quick Setup. Copy the full URL ending in /webhook/tradingview.

Can anyone view my license, Discord webhook or logs?

These values are returned by authenticated account APIs, not by the public help or marketing pages.

Can I see whether a signal was delivered?

Yes. The private dashboard contains usage and delivery logs for your account.

How do I manage a paid subscription?

Sign in, open Subscription or Settings, and use the authenticated billing controls.

Each card shows paste-ready JSON (left) and a sample Discord output (right). Use the copy icon on the JSON box to copy it. Type or edit layouts in Message composer above as needed. Include license and either device_id or secret (same value) in your JSON so alerts route to your account.

  "ticker": "{{ticker}}",
  "signal": "BUY",
  "price": "{{close}}",
  "time": "{{time}}"
}

Template: Router (multi-channel)

Optional: route alerts by tag/symbol to different Discord channels.

{
  "license": "tv_…",
  "device_id": "dev_…",
  "ticker": "{{ticker}}",
  "signal": "{{strategy.order.action}}",

Common issues

  • No Discord message: confirm you saved the Discord webhook URL and the alert is firing.
  • 400 / Invalid payload: make sure the alert message is valid JSON (quotes + commas).
  • Wrong channel: Discord webhook URL determines the channel—create the webhook in the right channel.
